Marilyn Sis" E. Quinlan

WORCESTER-Marilyn "Sis" E. (Mara) Quinlan, 87, of Worcester died Saturday, May 15 in the Parsons Hill Nursing Center. Her husband of 47 years, Edward F. Quinlan, Jr. died in 2001. She leaves a son Mark E. Quinlan and his wife Sandy and a daughter Tricia Quinlan Newcomb all of Worcester; three grandchildren, Scott and Kerry Quinlan and Kaitlyn Newcomb; a great-granddaughter and many nephews and nieces. Six brothers, Fred, Robert, Richard, Paul, George and Phil Mara predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Fred and Mary (Kennedy) Mara and graduated from Commerce High School.
Marilyn was an accountant for State Mutual Insurance Company for many years before retiring, prior to that she worked at American Steel and Wire Company.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Church. She was avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed traveling.
The funeral will be Wednesday, May 19 from Callahan and Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 18 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
