New York, NY-Marina (Apostolou) Lorian, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 10 in New York City.

Her husband, Dr. Victor Lorian passed away in 2014. She leaves her brother, James Apostolou and his wife Alice of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Sofia Apostol of Worcester; six nieces and nephews, Christina Apostol, James Apostol and his wife, Sabina and their daughter, Asha, Richard Apostolou, Marina Apostol, Laura Hovey and her husband, Chris and their children, Olivia, Leonardo and Isla and Victor Apostolou and his wife, Triada and their children, Loukas and Eva. A brother, Konstantinos “Charles” Apostol predeceased her. She was born in Bucharest, Romania, daughter of Fotios and Stamatia (Mazanitis) Apostolou and received her bachelor’s degree in mechanical dentistry in Romania.

Marina taught dental technology first in Romania and later in New York City for many years, before retiring.

A visiting hour will be held Monday, December 16 from 10 to 11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
