Marion "Chubby" O'Connell (Davis) died peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on November 26th at the age of 88.
She was born in Westfield, MA, daughter of the late Samuel Davis, Jr. and Rosanne M. (LaPlante) Stepanauskas and graduated from Holy Name High School.
Her husband of 64 years, Michael "Oke" O'Connell, Jr. predeceased her in 2015. She is survived by her children: Gale Garrity (Michael) of Sutton, Deborah Mahoney (Joseph) of Worcester, Cheryl Carlson (James) of Worcester, Michele Poirier of Worcester; Michael III "Chip" O'Connell (Joanne) of Wheelwright, Thomas O'Connell, Sr. (Tammy) of Worcester, Erin Thomson (pre-deceased by William) of Worcester, and Sean O'Connell (Judene) of Rutland. She also leaves 14 adoring grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Nancy Pingeton (Thomas) of Worcester.
She was the first female bartender at the Hotel Vernon in Worcester and worked at All America for over 20 years. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family or travelling to Bermuda with her best friend, Doreen LaPlante. She was often the belle of the ball and was known for having high standards for fashion and an ability to accessorize. We're confident that her husband is now playing pranks on her in heaven.
