WORCESTER-Marion J. (O'Brien) Kolodziejczak, 89, of Worcester died Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Lutheran Home. Her husband, Francis predeceased her in 1989. She leaves many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, which include three nephews that she called "her boys", John E. O'Brien of North Attleboro, Dennis P. O'Brien of Leicester and Richard K. O'Brien of Leominster and her niece Christine M. MacWade who was like a daughter. She was predeceased by five brothers, F. Richard, Edward, George, James and Edmund O'Brien and seven sisters, Rita Higgins, Margaret Curran. Ruth O'Brien, Lauretta O'Brien, Edna Enman, F. Janet Matulis and Jean MacWade.
She was born in Westborough, daughter of Edmund J. and Rose L. (Doherty) O'Brien, , graduated from Commerce High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. Marion retired in 1994 from Mercy Centre where she worked as secretary to the Director of Sheltered Workshop. She previously worked at State Mutual, now Hanover, and Buffington's Incorporated Pharmaceutical Mfg. Company. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting and crewel embroidery.
A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, January 19th from 9:30 until 10:30am at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 at Our Lady of Providence Church, 228 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
