BOYLSTON-Marjorie (Mahan) Brigham, 97, of Boylston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, June 23rd surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, John Brigham, her son David Brigham and his wife Anna and her grandson, Eric.
Marjorie leaves her daughter Linda Bancroft and her husband John of Boylston, and her son Jack Brigham and his wife, Dale of Barre. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Marjorie was born in Clinton in 1917 and graduated from Commerce High School.
Marjorie was a well-loved member of her community and was active in her church and the Boylston Senior Citizens. She was officially the oldest resident of the town of Boylston, a fact that she was proud to share! Marjorie loved to travel and traveled the world with her high-school sweetheart and late husband John. In 1941 when John was stationed in Hawaii, he and Marjorie survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Spending time with her extended family was her greatest love. She often threw holiday and birthday parties to get the whole family together. Her other favorite pastimes included gardening, playing cards, doing puzzles and watching the Red Sox. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A Memorial Service for Marjorie will he held at the Boylston Congregational Church, 10 Church Street, Boylston on Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marjorie's name to the Scholarship Fund at the Boylston Congregational Church, 10 Church Street, Boylston, MA 01505.
