Martha M. (Diggins) Adams, 82 died Monday (May13) at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center-Belmont St. Campus, Worcester after an illness.

Her husband William "Blackie" Adams died in 1985. She leaves a son, Daniel W. Adams of West Boylston, two daughters, Martha Anne Adams of Jefferson and Patricia J. Sherman of Princeton, a brother, Paul Diggins of Largo, FL, three grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Two brothers James Diggins of Worcester and John Diggins of Holden predeceased her. She was born in Holden daughter of John and Martha (Ford) Diggins. She graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked at the former Worcester County Hospital in Boylston prior to that she worked at the Visiting Nurses Association and the former City Hospital both in Worcester.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and its Woman's Club, West Boylston Woman's Club, West Boylston Historical Society, the Retired State County Municipal Employees Association, the Lady's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War Post%236907 West Boylston, Cool Sandy Beach Association, and the Holden Grange.

A Funeral will be held Saturday (May 18) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home (www.faybrothers.com) 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Friday (May17) form 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Neady Cats P.O. Box 213 West Boylston 01583-0213
