ASHBURNHAM - Martha Ellen Larson, 59, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Russell P. and Charlotte A. (Field) Larson.

Martha was raised in the Quinsigamond Village area of Worcester and graduated from Burncoat HS, and The Stockbridge School at the University of Massachusetts- Amherst. In 2010 Martha completed her RN degree from Mount Wachusett Community College, and most recently worked several years for Spring Hill Recovery in Ashby. She was a talented floral designer, who worked for several area florists through the years and loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed kayaking, hiking and especially skiing, spending many years on the ski patrols at Mt Wachusett and Crotched Mountain ski areas. Martha held a love for animals her whole life. As a teenager, she volunteered many hours at the Worcester Science Center, now the Ecotarium in Worcester.

Martha will be forever loved and missed by her four sons; Carl "Tony" Faler of Denver, Matthew Faler of Lowell, Michael Rellstab of Ashburnham and Zach Rellstab of Worcester; her two brothers, Peter R. Larson and his wife, Judith of Grand Rapids, MI, and Thomas W. Larson, Sr. and his wife, Carleen of West Boylston; as well as several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A memorial service celebrating Martha's life is planned on June 24 at Bethlehem Covenant Church, 46 Greenwood Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Sierra Club (https://vault.sierraclub.org/ways-to-give/%23donate-maintab).
