WORCESTER-Martin J. "Marty" McCormick, 72, of Worcester passed away, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Saint Vincent Hospital.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Mary Ellen (Reidy) McCormick; a daughter, Kathleen A. "Kate" McCormick of Worcester; a son, Thomas J. McCormick and his wife, Katrina of Worcester; three grandsons; Matthew, Eamon and Braedon and an expected first grand-daughter in January; a brother, James McCormick and his wife, Susan of Flat Rock, NC; a sister, Sr. Mary E. McCormick of the Sisters of Charity of NY and nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A brother, Thomas McCormick predeceased him. He was born in New York City, NY son of Thomas L. and Mary Ann (Clarke) McCormick and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx.

Martin worked at the former Reed Rico Tool and Die Company in Holden for 15 years retiring in 2001, and prior to that he worked for Kinefac Corporation in Worcester. He was a longtime and active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and most recently St. Peter's Church where he taught ESL. Martin enjoyed music, reading and he was a volunteer MCAS tutor at Doherty Memorial High School. He was a loving family man and he especially loved spending time with his grandsons and attending all of their sports events.



A Funeral will be held Wednesday, December 9 from CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 11:30AM in Saint Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Tuesday, December 8 from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nazareth Home for Boys, 77 Mulberry Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
