She was born in Worcester in 1922, a daughter of the late Harry M. and Evangeline (Tsetsis) Kotseas who immigrated to the United States from the village of Protopappas, Eprious Greece. Mary was raised in Shrewsbury and graduated from Major Howard W. Beal High School class of 1941. Upon her graduation, Mary went on to receive her Registered Nursing Degree from Worcester Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1944. Mary had seven siblings with whom she remained very close seeing or speaking to them often.

Upon graduation Mary entered the US Army and served during WWII as a 2nd Lieutenant at the 4th General Hospital in Manila, Philippines. Mary resumed her nursing career as a Memorial Hospital nurse, continued as a private duty nurse and later served as Dr. George Moore's and Dr. Germanos's office practice register nurse while raising her family.

Mary's career changed course in 1972 when she received her degree as a Registered Electrologist. She later shared her expertise with others by obtaining licensure for the Angelis School of Electrology. Mary skillfully taught numerous students that later successfully graduated and began their careers practicing Electrolysis in Massachusetts and Connecticut. After her "retirement" Mary continued to have clients well into her 70's.

Mary enjoyed gatherings with family and friends baking her flaky crust apple, blueberry and strawberry-rhubarb pies, cookies, chocolate brownies and pizza. She was very skilled at knitting, creating many items for her love ones. She tried her hand at oil painting and had a self determination that brought success to her many interests. Mary walked daily in her Worcester neighborhood which contributed to her good health and mental strength.

Mary was a member of Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and will be remembered by all for her lovely smile, love, devotion, and self-sacrifice for her family. She had a welcoming disposition in her later years which enabled her to make many new friends.

Her family wishes to thank her many acquaintances and friends she made in Massachusetts and in Florida. They are especially grateful for the kindness of the residents, care providers and staff of Fairways Pines where she lived, Compassionate Care Hospice, and Ms. Amanda Sager, RN, NP.
