WEST BOYLSTON-Mary. P. (Moran) Bonci, 93 of West Boylston passed on Saturday, October 28 with her loving  family by her side in Notre Dame Long Term Care.

Her husband of 58 years, Donald W. Bonci, Sr. died in 2008. She leaves three devoted children, Patricia L. Fanning and her husband, Timothy of West Boylston, Donald W. Bonci, Jr. and his wife, Judith of Barnstable, and Marcia A. Amaral of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Matthew Bianchini and his wife, Lexi of Naples, FL, Amy Grizzle and her husband, Zachary of Louisville, KY, Elizabeth Coughlin and her husband, Brian of Norton, Tara Cooper of Northborough, Caitlin Fanning of West Boylston, Anthony Bonci and his partner, Ingrid of Inglewood, CA, Jenna McCann and her husband, Harrison of Shrewsbury and sixteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Jackie J. Moran, Jr. and her son-in-law, Dr. Edward L. Amaral predeceased her. She was born in Holden, daughter of John J. and Laura R. (Wadsworth) Moran and graduated from Holden High School.

Mary grew up in Jefferson and at a young age was a candlepin bowling champion. It was at the bowling alley in Jefferson that she met her husband, Don. They married and moved to West Boylston and Mary spent the next 71 years in the homes that they built. She worked in the office of Eugene Pratillo, CPA for many years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and past President of the Woman’s Club. She loved sharing her beach home in South Yarmouth with her family, traveling to Fort Myers Beach with Don and in later years loved her morning breakfast with her girlfriends at Jakes or McDonalds. Mary was an avid Red Sox fan and especially enjoyed college basketball and her favorite team, Duke. She loved to knit, make afghans for family and her morning crossword puzzle. Mary was a very gracious, kind, generous mother and grandmother. and a devoted caregiver to her parents as they grew older. Her world revolved around her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Notre Dame Long Term Care, Notre Dame Hospice, especially her nurse, Michael, her at-home caregivers and her special neighbor, Theresa Bonci for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mary over the years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Thursday, November 2 at 11am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Boylston Ecumenical Food Pantry at the First Congregational Church, 26 Church St., West Boylston, 01583, Notre Dame Long Term Care, 555-559 Plantation St., Worcester, 01605 or a charity of your choosing.
