Mary K. Earley

WORCESTER-Mary K. (Gibbons) Karpicus Earley, 54, passed away Monday, November 15 at St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She leaves her husband of seven years, George P. "Gidge" Earley; a daughter, Katherine "Katie" Karpicus of Worcester; a son, James M. Karpicus, of Worcester and six grandchildren. She also leaves three step-sons, Matthew and Patrick Earley, both of Worcester and Nicholas Earley in S.C., her mother-in-law, Joan L. Earley of Worcester and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, John "Jack" Gibbons.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Anne (Barry) Gibbons and graduated from North High School and Quinsigamond Community College. Mary was a clerk in the Probation Department at the Worcester Central District Courthouse for many years, retiring in April, 2009 due to an illness. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved animals and watching the Red Sox and Patriots.
The funeral will be held on Friday, November 19 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday, November 18 from 4-8 PM in the funeral home.
