WORCESTER

WORCESTER-Mary Joan (Drake) Gadaire, 64, of Worcester, died on Thursday, October 20th at home.  She was born January 9, 1958, in Worcester to Thomas and Mary (Costello) Drake.

Mary was greatly loved by her family and many friends.  She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth M. and Barbara A. Drake, and her “niece” Olivia D. Murphy.  In addition, she leaves her Murphy, Quinn, Costello and Lovely cousins and their families.  She will also be greatly missed by her beloved puppy, Ellie.  Mary was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Ronald B. Gadaire.

Mary graduated from Burncoat High School, David Hale Fanning School of Health Occupations, and Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale FL.  Mary worked as a nurse in many settings including Fallon Clinic, Oriol Health Care and, most recently, in the Rheumatology Clinic at Reliant Health Care.  The constant she brought to her work was her nursing expertise, her willingness to do whatever was needed, her compassion, her warm heart, and her great sense of humor.   Her patients and her colleagues loved Mary as she loved them.

Mary loved her God, her family, and her friends.  She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joan of Arc parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  She enjoyed the simple things of life; her dog, cooking, watching cooking shows, shopping, and caring for her home.
