West Boylston
Mary M. (Kelleher) Gallant, 89, formerly of 49 Pleasant Valley Dr., Worcester died Saturday (Dec15) in the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center after an illness.
Her husband of 28 years Raymond J. Gallant died in 1961. She leaves a son Raymond J. Gallant of West Boylston, two daughters, Elizabeth A. Newcombe of Arlington and Eileen G. Brisebois of Brookfield, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was born in Worcester daughter of John T. and Mary (Driscoll) Kelleher. She graduated from Commerce High School. She lived in West Boylston for many years moving to Worcester for several years then returning to West Boylston.
She worked for several years at Worcester County National Bank retiring in 1974. She was a also a hairdresser in Worcester.
She was a member of St Christopher's Church and its Legion of Mary, a former member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, where she was the First President of the Women's Club. She was a teacher of Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and was very involved in activities at both churches. She was a member of the Blue Army.
A Funeral will be held Tuesday (Dec18) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Worcester. Calling Hours are Monday (Dec17) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the charity of choice.
