WEST BOYLSTON
Mary Louise (Hearn) Itkowsky, 92, formerly of West Boylston and Worcester passed away Sunday, December 26 in the Life Care Center of Leominster.
Her husband Francis A. Itkowsky died in 1983. She leaves two children, Michael G. Itkowsky and his wife Christine of Northborough and Frank A. Itkowsky and his wife Dianna of Leominster; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Marissa, Micah and Ezra. Her brother, George B. Hearn, and sister, Audrey Kjellman, predeceased her. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of George D. and Sara F. (Bligh) Hearn and graduated from Classical High School, Simmons Nursing College and Falkner Hospital Nursing College. She was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the Philippines later at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. She lived 38 years in West Boylston, before moving to Worcester and then to Leominster.
Mary Louise worked as a registered nurse at the Veterans Hospital and at Jamesbury Corporation for many years, before retiring.
She was a member of St. Christopher's Church, the Beaman Library book Club and was a former cub scout leader. Mary Louise was an avid reader.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 30, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are, Wednesday from, 4 to 7 PM, at the funeral home.
