Mary E. (Hammond) Johnson, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Beaumont Center.
 
She was the wife of the late Runo C. Johnson who passed away in 1992.
 
She was born in Holden on October 17, 1924 a daughter of the late Oliver J. and Marion A. (Gagnon) Hammond. She also worked as a seamstress for many years at RJ Twomey Company. She also worked as a bus monitor in the Worcester Public Schools. Mrs. Johnson was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church where she served as an usher. She was one of the founding members of the Leicester Senior Center and was involved in countless other organizations and groups throughout her life.
 
She leaves behind two daughters, Kristine and Elaine; a brother, David and a sister Carol; two grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
 
Family and friends will gather to honor Mary's life on Friday, APRIL 12th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home. Her family will then privately inter Mary at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
