WEST BOYLSTON-Mary (Zickell) Lacilla, 96, of 10 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester formerly of 6 Woodland Heights West Boylston passed away early Tuesday morning with her loving family beside her, one day before her 96th birthday.

Born on July 11, 1911 in San Giorgio, Province of Pesaro, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Stella (Saudelli) Zachilli. Mrs. Lacilla migrated to the United States in 1927. She met her husband; the late Leo Lacilla and they were married on November 7, 1942.

She was involved in the family business the former Zickell Builders Supply Company of West Boylston, a former hardware and building materials supply store started by her father. She was a member of several of the women's clubs and social organizations. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and a variety of homemaker activities and following current events. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing good times with her children and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by everyone that was a part of her life.

Mary leaves two sons, David D. and his wife Deborah of Manchester, CT, Stephen A. and his wife Marydonna of Holden; a daughter, Lois Lacilla Hall and her husband James Schueler of San Marcos, CA. She also leaves four grandchildren, Stephanie A. Lacilla and Lauren A. wife of Timothy Mieczkowski of E. Hartford, CT, Lisa Lacilla and Michael Lacilla both of Holden. She also leaves a sister, Florence wife of Russell Cook of Greenville, NH and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Eleanor O'Malley predeceased her.

Mary's family would like to extend the warmest thanks to the staff at the Christopher House for the wonderful care that she received upon entering there in November 2005. In addition, a special thanks goes out to those members of the Critical Care Unit of UMass Memorial Hospital in comforting Mary in her final days.

Mary's funeral will be Friday, July 13 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
