Mary (Frissora) Locantore

Mary (Frissora) Locantore, 102, passed away peacefully at Webster Manor on September 12, 2023.

She was the wife of the late Dominic J. “Ditto” Locantore who died in 2009.

Mary was born in Springfield on February 27, 1921, a daughter of the late Innocenzo Frissora and Antonia Di Blasio .

A talented and accomplished musician, Mrs. Locantore was a cellist in the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra for 57 years. She  also had been a member of the Thayer Symphony Orchestra,  Springfield Symphony Orchestra and the Connecticut Opera Company. She also had her own string quartet, The Silver Strings.

She will always be remembered as friendly, loving and caring to all that knew her.

Mrs. Locantore leaves two sons, Stephen Locantore of Charlton and Roger Locantore of Nahant and her daughter, Donna Wagner of Milford, NJ. She was predeceased by her son, David Locantore. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Sunday, September 17^th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at the Callahan, Fay and Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
