Mary V. Murphy,85, formerly of Wabash Ave. died Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Oakdale Nursing Center, West Boylston.

She leaves several cousins, among them, Sr. Claire Burns S.N.D. in Ipswich and Mary Rogers-High of Holden. She was born in Worcester, son of John J. and Delia J. (Barry) Murphy and graduated from Ascension High School.

She worked at F.W. Woolworths for many years, before retiring. She was a member of St. John's Church and the Ascension Alumni Club.

The funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 30, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A calling period will be Friday, Sept. 30, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Church, Building Fund, 40 Temple St. Worcester, 01604.
