Mary P. (Dempsey) Quinn 82, of 86 Brantwood Rd. died Wednesday (Nov.6) in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Belmont St. Campus after an illness.
Her husband of 43 years, Walter V. Quinn died in 1988. She leaves six sons, Peter A. Quinn, Thomas P. Quinn, Walter V. Quinn, Michael J. Quinn and Joseph F. Quinn all of Worcester, and Richard Quinn of Eastham, four brothers, John Dempsey, Thomas Dempsey, Sonny Dempsey and Anthony Dempsey all of Ireland, two sisters, Sister Mary Bernard of Ireland and Delia Whaylan of England, nine grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was born in County Galway, Ireland, daughter of Thomas and Ellen (Cosgrove) Dempsey. She attended school in Ireland. She moved to the United States at the age of 16, first living in Roxbury, then moving to Worcester in 1945.
She was a cashier for 25 years at Saint Vincent Hospital retiring several years ago.
She was a member of Christ the King Church and enjoyed summering on Cape Cod.
A Funeral will be held Saturday (Nov. 9) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home (www.faybrothers.com) 1 West Boylston St. W. Boylston with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours are Friday (Nov.8) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
