Mary R. Foley

WORCESTER-Mary R. (Angers) Foley, 77, passed away Thursday, September 7 in St. Vincent Hospital.

She leaves her husband of 52 years, Thomas G. Foley; three children, Tara R. Maestas of Santa Fe, NM, Jacynta M. Deignan and her husband, James of Holden and James T. Foley and his wife, Bonnie of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Beckett, Gabriel, Reaghan, William, Declan, Owen and Cullen; three siblings, Paul Angers and his wife, Linda of Spencer, Jeanne Angers of Worcester and Theresa Butkiewicz of Worcester; a sister in law, Linda Angers of Millbury and nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Angers predeceased her.  Mary spent many weeks and months over a multitude of years visiting her family and dear in-laws in Ireland who will also miss her profoundly. 

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Rene and Mary (Ford) Angers and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. Mary was a legal secretary for 37 years for Ferguson Law Office in Worcester. She was a devout Catholic and one of the ways she practiced her faith was in the form of service to others which included many years mentoring girls as a scout leader for the Montachusett Girl Scout Council.  During her years as a scout leader, she learned to love camping and hiking in the White Mountains and this naturally progressed to regular expeditions and explorations of National Parks throughout the country.

Visiting Hours are Wednesday, September 13 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 14 at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Why Me and Sherry’s House at www.whyme.org.
