Mary married Edward A. Shamoian in 1950 who predeceased her in 1981. During the time of their marriage, she worked side-by-side with him in his various restaurant endeavors which included Chicken Delight franchises and Country Kitchen restaurant. She was his partner in the truest sense of the word and enjoyed the many customers and friends which they made in the restaurant business. She considered them her children as well and she embraced every moment with them. She was a friend to many and could always be counted upon. In addition to her love of family, she was happiest cooking and entertaining. She was known as an accomplished Armenian cook.
After her husband passed, she valued the friendship of Roger Bogosian who predeceased her in 2013. They spent much time traveling to Florida, Vermont, and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
