WORCESTER-Mary L. (Mahoney) Williamson, 97, formerly of Hunthurst Circle died Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Holy Trinity Nursing Home.

Her husband, John F. Williamson died in 1975. She leaves seven nieces, three nephews; grandnieces, grandnephews and her beloved friend and caretaker, Judy Sang. She was the sister of the late Margaret V. Mahoney, James Mahoney, Joseph Mahoney and John Mahoney.

She was born in Worcester daughter of Patrick and Ellen (Shea) Mahoney. Mary graduated from Ascension High School and Normal School. She went on to receive he Bachelor's Degree from Worcester State College and her Master's Degree from Fitchburg State College. Mary was a teacher at Adams Street and Oxford Street Schools. She was then a home and hospital tutor for physically handicapped children. She retired from Mill Swan School in 1974.

She was a founding member of St Charles Borromeo Church, the National Educational Association, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the Educational Association of Worcester, the Guild of Our Lady of Providence and the Art Museum. Mary also volunteered for the American Red Cross and Assumption College.

A calling hour will be held Friday, September 9 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. The family request flowers be omitted and memorial contributions made to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
