Maureen "Bitsy" (Fink) Flanagan, 79, formerly of West Boylston passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She leaves five children, Thomas F. Flanagan of Shrewsbury, Mark E. Flanagan of Gardner, Paula M. Flanagan and her husband, Joseph Kittredge of Worcester, Peter R. Flanagan and his wife, Rhonda of West Boylston and Mary Lu Flanagan of Leicester; a sister, Marilyn M. McLaughlin of Boylston; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Raymond D. and Emily A. (Pessolano) Fink and graduated from Millbury High School, Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and received a Master's Degree in Psychology and Counseling from Anna Marie College.
Bitsy had a long career as a psychiatric nurse and counselor a job which she loved. She retired as a nursing supervisor from Fairlawn Nursing Home in Leominster several years ago.
Bitsy had a great love for animals, spending time on the beaches of Cape Cod and cheering for her favorite team, The Red Sox. She loved all her grandchildren and particularly enjoyed taking care of Laura and Joey in the last years of her life.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 17th at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street at 5:00pm with a Prayer Service to follow at 5:30pm to celebrate her life. She will be buried privately in Saint Bridget's Cemetery, Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Archway Inc., 77 Mulberry St., Leicester, MA 01524.
