Mia Y. Abreu-Ortiz

Mia Y. Abreu-Ortiz, a vibrant and lovable 6-year-old, left this world on February 13, 2025, at Boston Children’s Hospital after bravely battling a long illness. Born in Worcester, she was the cherished daughter of Alex Abreu and Yaritza Ortiz and is remembered fondly by her many family members who loved her dearly.

Mia was a bright light in the lives of those around her. Attending first grade at Richer Elementary School in Marlborough, she approached her studies with curiosity and enthusiasm. Mia's passions extended far beyond the classroom; she had a special affinity for arts and crafts, often finding joy in the simple pleasures of music and singing. Her love for play dough was boundless, where her creativity knew no limits.

Known for her quick wit, Mia delighted those around her with her jokes and playful sass, bringing laughter and joy into every moment. She made an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation to celebrate Mia’s beautiful life will be held at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester,  on Wednesday, February 26th from 9:00-11:00 AM followed by a service that honors her spirit at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Hope Cemetery, Worcester, where we lovingly remember her fondly.

Though Mia's time with us was far too short, the memories she created will last a lifetime, filling our hearts with love and reminding us of the joy she brought into the world.
