Michael J. DePatsy, 65, passed away Monday, April 24 unexpectedly.
He was born on December 8, 1951 in Leominster to William and Celeste (Armillotti). His brother, William DePatsy passed away Wednesday, April 26.
He leaves six children, Erin, Jared, Katelyn, Meghan, Jesse and Molly; his former wife, Nancy Handy; two brothers, Jack and Peter DePatsy and his sister, Debra Quist. Michael who was known as "Crusher" to his friends, graduated from West Boylston High School, class of 1969, excelling in basketball, track and field events, especially the shot-put.
Michael worked for the last five years for Joey Evanglista as a carpenter, prior to that he worked as a cook at various schools and restaurants most notable, the Manor Restaurant, a job he took great pride in. In his early years he worked at Norton Company, Interstate Battery and alongside his cousin, Tom DePatsy.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 29 at 10AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Fund, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Arrangements in the care of Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street.
