DELRAY BEACH, FL - Michael E. “Charlie” Walsh, 72, passed away on August 18, 2025 at Delray Medical Center with his partner of 35 years by his side.
Born in Worcester to the late Edward and Mary (O’Neill) Walsh, Michael was raised in the Columbus Park neighborhood and attended Worcester Public Schools, graduating from South High Community School. Later, he worked at Hanover Insurance and tended bar at several area establishments including: The Blarney Stone, The Wexford House and The Press Box.
He is survived by his devoted partner of 35 years, Ann Marie “Albee” Nichols, his two daughters Lisamarie Walsh and Shannon and her husband James Armour; two grandsons John Walsh Karam and Ryan Armour; a brother Steven, a sister Debra and her husband Gary Berthiaume; his favorite niece Nicole Hackett and his nephew and godson Matthew Berthiaume; cousins, including Lynne Starbard and many dear friends. Charlie is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children Margaret R. Walsh, with whom he and Albee maintained a close friendship.
Charlie was proud of his Irish heritage, enjoyed golf and playing cards. He loved the Red Sox and is a former member of the Italian American Victory Club in Shrewsbury. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, joy and a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Adult Health Program at Seven Hills Foundation.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Charlie's life with visiting hours Friday, August 29th from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am, in the funeral home, on Saturday, August 30th after a short visitation from 9:00-10:00am. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
