AUBURN-Michael Fedyk, 81, of Glenview Rd. died Friday, May 14th in UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Ann L. (Malauskas) Fedyk; a son, Michael J. Fedyk of Worcester; 3 daughters, Janet M. O'Brien of Worcester, Linda A. Girouard of E. Brookfield, Joni M. Fedyk of Beacon, NY; a sister, Rose Borek of Worcester; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, John M. Fedyk died in 1955.
He was born in Worcester son of George and Julia (Kursak) Fedyk and has lived in Auburn for 47 years. He was a WW II veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Fedyk worked as a wire drawer and temperer at Thompson Steel Company for 29 years retiring in 1978. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and served as a District Commissioner for 12 years. He was a member of North American Martyrs Church and loved to golf and do volunteer work.
The funeral will be Monday, May 17th from the LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 16th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
