Michael S. Reed

Michael Steven Reed, 31, of Worcester, MA died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 24th, 2021. Michael is survived by his daughter Sophia Mae Reed and Sophia's mom Brianna Liu, his parents Michael J. Reed and Judith E. Reed (Poisant) of Worcester, his sister Danielle Jodrey (Reed) and Brother in law Matthew Jodrey of Holden, his sister Michaela Reed of Worcester, his nieces and nephew, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was born in Worcester and graduated from Doherty High School.

Mike struggled with addiction for most of his adult life and overcame many obstacles. He fought hard and won many battles along the way. His strength, hope and perseverance allowed him to spend the last year of his life sober and able to enjoy life with his family and friends. His family is so grateful for all the happy loving memories and is so inspired by Mike's courage and resilience.

Mike will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kind and empathetic heart, his sense of humor and contagious laugh, his passion for music and writing, and his genuine love for his family, friends, his recovery family and most especially his daughter.

Visiting Hours are Thursday, October 28, from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 10am in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Channing House, 21 Catherine St. Worcester, 01605 or any other organization that helps those in recovery.
