Minella Papakostandini, a distinguished figure in the realm of Albanian electricity engineering and a cherished individual, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 Friday, May 31, in the comfort of his home.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family, survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Prentina (Dhonato) Papakostandini, his son Alfred Papakostandini and daughter-in-law Loreta from Washington, D.C., two daughters; Silvana Papakostandini and her husband Kastriot Durmshi of Worcester, and Lydra Glozheni and her husband Niko of Worcester. He will be forever remembered by his five grandchildren Vivian, Luena and husband Andy, Wendy and husband AK, Orson & Alexa, as well as his two great-grandchildren Olivia & Amelia.
Born in Berat, Albania to Pandeli and Marija (Shallvari) Papakostandini, Minella's life was marked by a profound passion for creativity. Not only did he excel as a trailblazer in electricity engineering but also as an accomplished author with over 14 published works. An artist at heart, he found solace in painting and took delight in the written word through poetry. His talents extended to woodworking and translation endeavors from English to Albanian. Yet, above all else, he treasured the moments shared with his beloved grandchildren.
A man of integrity and warmth, Minella's presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His memory will endure through the stories told and the love he shared with those closest to him.
Visitation to honor Minella's life will take place on Wednesday, June 5th from 10:00 AM to Noon at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home on 61 Myrtle Street in Worcester. Following this tribute will be his burial at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
