WEST BOYLSTON-Miriam E. (Martilla) Montville, 82, passed away Thursday, January 15 in UMASS Medical Center.
Miriam was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, David R. Montville who passed in 2021. She leaves four children, among them, David J. Montville of Mechanicville, NY; several grandchildren, among them, Justin A. Montville and his wife, Diana of Grafton and Jason S. Montville and his wife, Renee of Charlton; several great-grandchildren, among them, Ella, Joseph, Lily, Zoe, Silas and Savannah and a sister, Barbara Wahlstrom; two nephews, Erik Wahlstrom and Todd Wahlstrom and her furry companion, Wilma. A brother, Robert P. Martilla predeceased her. She was born in Madison, WI daughter of Paul E. and Laura L. (Raita) Martilla. Miriam attended North High School, graduated in 1961. She then attended Becker Junior College, graduated in 1963.
Miriam was a longtime bookkeeper for several local automobile dealerships. She was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Nascar fan. She loved camping in Old Orchard Beach Maine. She had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her plants. In her earlier years Miriam was a member of the Greendale Peoples Church choir.
A Private Graveside Service will be held in Mount Vernon Cemetery in the spring time. Arrangements in the care of Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St.
