WORCESTER- Miriam Torres, 65, passed away suddenly on February 11, 2021 at UMass Medical Center.
She was born in Santurce Puerto Rico on September 27, 1955 a daughter of Pablo Torres and Cristobalina Martinez. She was the third born child in a family of 12 children and was very protective of all her brothers and sisters. As she grew older, she was considered by many family members to be the "bridge" that brought them together through family events/gatherings or through individual relationships they had each developed with her.
She was always supportive of everyone she encountered and was an inspiration to many. A God-fearing woman of deep faith, Miriam had many people she prayed for daily. She was easily moved to help those in need and developed strong relationships with individuals from her church family whom she cherishes and loves deeply. She also developed strong bonds and relationships with her children and grandchildren. She was incredibly involved and present in their lives and made sure not to miss any of their accomplishments, successes or milestones. She always made sure to extend her love to all her family members and friends and will be missed by all those who had the opportunity to know and love her.
She is survived by her daughter Jessica Torres, Michelle Torres, Doris Melendez, her son Jose Torres and his wife Ishaa Ortiz-Torres, her grandchildren Delilah Carrion, Jenika Anderson, Eronika Anderson, Nikayla Mendez, Julian Torres, Julianna Torres, Julius Torres, Her siblings Luz Maria Oquendo, Pablo Torres, Mildred Torres, Maria Torres, Samuel Torres, Elias Torres, Luis Martinez and her mother Cristobalina Martinez.
She is deceased by her father Pablo Torres, Brother Ricardo Maisonet and Ruben Torres and Sisters Lillian Torres, Rosa Migdalia Torres
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life with visiting hours on Wednesday, February 17th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery
