Moira E. (Hales) Stratton, 58, of West Boylston died Friday, June 8 at UMASS Medical Center after a long illness.
Her husband James W. Stratton died in 1998. She leaves three children, Peter H. Stratton of Philadelphia, PA, Emma H. Stratton and Anna H. Stratton both of West Boylston; a sister, Jacqueline and her husband Jeffrey Thomas of Neath, Wales; her companion, Peter Laytin of Fitchburg; her mother-in-law, Marita Stratton of Lee and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She was born in Wales, daughter of William and Beatrice (September) Hales and graduated from South England College of Art with a BA in Three Dimensional Design before raising her family. She later pursued a degree in Communications from Fitchburg State College.
Moira was an avid gardener, loved to cook, entertain, decorate her home, read and listen to music. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and traveling to Maine. Moira was interested in alternative health and wellness, and practiced it throughout her life.
