Nancy E. Petty, 54, of Worcester passed away suddenly, Sun., Feb. 24, while vacationing in Doolin, County Clare, Ireland a country in which she had dual citizenship, great pride and many loved family members.
Nancy leaves her parents Joseph J. and Jean H. (Fleming) Petty, her brother, Francis P. Petty and wife Sharon of Worcester; her sisters, Joanne F. Petty McGinn and significant other Jeremiah Kelly of Spencer and South Dennis and Joyce McTigue and husband John of Worcester; a sister-in-law M. Karen Petty of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Edward Peloquin of Spencer. A brother, Joseph M. Petty predeceased her in 2004 and a sister Kathleen M. Peloquin passed away in October.
Nancy had a deep fondness for her nieces and nephews: Melissa, Elizabeth, Michael, Sean, Bryan, Kelley, Joe, Katelyn, Matthew, Megan, Shannon, Derek, Michael and Jaclyn. Great nieces and nephews: Bryan, Dominick, Brendan, Seamus, Nolan, Kaylie, Reilly, Colin and several godchildren. She also leaves an uncle, several aunts and many close friends and relatives in Worcester and County Clare, Ireland. Nancy also leaves her beloved cats: Baby, Sally and Sammy. She was a graduate of South High School and attended Clark University.
Nancy retired from Nynex after 25 years of service then spent several years' of employment at Temple Emmanuel and Barbera Associates. She was currently a realtor with Keller Williams. Nancy was an active participant in the community. She was a past president and current member of the New England Telephone Pioneers of America. A member of Friends of Worcester Neighborhoods, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the National Association of Realtors. Nancy was an accomplished photographer; many of her photos of Ireland can been seen at the Fiddlers Green Pub, AOH in Worcester.
The funeral will be held Wed., March 5, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Tues., March 4, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service was held Fri., Feb. 29 in Doolin, County Clare, Ireland.
