Nancy E. (Durning) Shea 56, of 6 Juniper Lane died Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Hospice Residence at 10 Judith Rd., Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 31 years, Michael J. Shea; a son, Kevin M. Shea of Boston; a daughter, Laura E. Shea of Boston; 2 brothers, John Durning of Rutland and James Durning of Worcester; a sister, Jane Guilbeault of Holden, nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John E. and Eileen (Deignan) Durning and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Northeastern University School of Nursing. Nancy was a registered nurse and recently retired as an instructor at the Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical School. Prior to that she was a school nurse in Windham, NH.
Her family and friends were her greatest enjoyment in life.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 25 at Noon in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lipper Center for Multiple Myeloma, c/o DFCI, 10 Brookline Place West 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. Worcester, is directing arrangements.
