Nehemiah L. Pridgeon, Jr.

February 13, 1961 — February 16, 2024

Worcester

Nehemiah Leroy Pridgeon, Jr. was born on February 13, 1961 to the late Nehemiah L. Pridgeon, Sr. and Josephine R. Pridgeon in Boston, MA.  Nehemiah also known as “Lee” graduated from Bunker Hill Community College. To further develop his culinary prowess Lee attended Advanced Studies at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.

After college, Lee worked at a number of restaurants and hotels in Boston, MA. Many years later he and his wife Stacey had the pleasure of opening their own restaurant Heaven Lee Family Dining in Blackstone, MA. Lee was a great chef and enjoyed creating elaborate meals for the family and extended family during the holidays and other special occasions. He enjoyed trying new foods and watching multiple food shows like Iron Chef America, Master Chef and Bizarre Foods. You could also find him binge watching old black and white episodes of Perry Mason. Lee was an avid sport’s fan cheering on the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics each year. However, his love for the Alabama Crimson Tide college football team cannot be rivaled. Roll Tide! He enjoyed fishing and telling the story of how a big one got away after dragging him, his wife and daughter across the lake in a fishing boat. Lee’s other passion was music. He loved playing the bass guitar with the choir and during church service. He was multitalented as a musician. Besides the Bass Lee also played keyboard and took pleasure in listening to various genres of music. Anyone who knew him will tell you his all time favorite musical group was the Isley Brothers. Lee loved the Lord and on most days turned to gospel music for solace and inspiration. He would listen to artists like Rance Allen, Rev. James Moore and Bishop Marvin Sapp to name a few.

Lee departed this life on February 16, 2024 after a long illness.  Nehemiah was predeceased by his parents, and son Robert Moss. Nehemiah leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 20 years, Stacey L. Johnson-Pridgeon of Worcester; three children Tameka Moss (Boston), Akeem Pridgeon (Worcester) and Niah Maya Pridgeon (Indiana); Two grandsons Damony Moss, Daylen Pridgeon and another grandson on the way;  two sisters Noreen Washington (Virginia ) and Gloria Pridgeon (Boston); Family matriarch Aunt Ella Mae Rivers; Uncles Lawrence Pridgeon and Emmanuel Gates; a devoted sister-in-law Shelia Johnson; a loving niece Candace Johnson; Nephews Arron Pridgeon, Xavier Miranda, Kaylin Miranda, Alfred Greene, Glendora Lattimore, Frankie Hall, Bobby Hall and Terrence Hall; Nieces Branda Johnson and Antonayah Modeste; Cousin and confidant Harry Gates;  Spiritual Daughter Kynma Dunn and Spiritual Grandson Joshua Roberts; and a host of cousins, relatives, friends, and his beloved Puppy Maxie.
