WORCESTER-Neil D. Lynch, 52, died Saturday, March 5 at St. Vincent Hospital, after a short illness. His wife Sara (Mendelowitz) Lynch predeceased him. He leaves his children; Neil D. Lynch, Jr. and his wife Heather of Ft. Bragg, NC, Devin C. Lynch of Worcester and Rachel A. Lynch of Worcester and two granddaughters, Rosa Negron and Onora Lynch. He also leaves a sister, Eilyana Verdini and her husband Paul of Holden and five brothers, Michael C. Lynch and Laurie Kollios of Worcester, Patrick S. Lynch and his wife Sharon of Sturbridge, Timothy J. Lynch of Worcester, Brendan C. Lynch and Robin Puzo of Worcester and Seamus A. Lynch of Millbury and many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Cornelius and Eileen (Tangney) Lynch and graduated from North High School and Westfield State University. Neil currently worked as a Residential Counselor at Community Health Link. He previously worked at Adcare Hospital and Worcester State Hospital. He enjoyed music, was an avid reader and sports fan, and especially loved the Bruins. Neil was not only a devoted family man but he also devoted his life to helping others. He found great reward in helping those who struggled.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 8 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday, March 7 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
