WORCESTER - Nicolle Marie Lockward-Valera, 10, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at U-Mass Memorial Medical Center. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Alberto Lockward and Aimee Maria Garcia Valera Lockward. She leaves her parents, a brother Alberto Jr., and sister Sabrina of Worcester as well as a large extended family from this area and the Dominican Republic.
Nicolle had many interests which kept her busy and happy. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed going to Disney, Vermont, the Bahamas, Niagara Falls and Santa Domingo, D.R. Some of her favorite activities were camping, learning to swim, horseback riding, driving a four-wheeler and spending time with family and close friends. She was a member of All Saints Church and spent Friday afternoons taking lessons on the flute in the Afternoon Tunes program there. This was one of the special places where she could let her creative spirit free and spend time with other children in a fun environment.
She had a passion for dancing, making music videos and baking and enjoyed watching baking shows on Netflix often. Nicolle loved sushi, making slime with friends, making loom bracelets, caring for little children, going to Six Flags and the beauty of a rainbow after a rainstorm. Other shows she enjoyed were America's Got Talent and Nailed It.
Her family remembers her as a shining star, a beaming light, an energy of love. They said that everyone who met her felt her vibrant spunk and aura of goodness. Like a rainbow, she made those near her smile and will continue to spread her love in her eternal home.
