With hearts full of love and gratitude for her life, we announce the death of Nora T. Leary
Nora T. Leary passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday September 23, 2025, at Rose Monahan Hospice. Nora was the wife of John J. Leary who passed away in Ireland on vacation in 1985.
Nora was born on June 28, 1927, in Glounacopple, Killarney, Co. Kerry Ireland to Denis and Elizabeth (Burke) O’Sullivan. She graduated from St. Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School. Nora was a nanny in England before immigrating to the United States in 1950. After raising her children, Nora worked as a housekeeper at UMass Memorial.
Nora is survived by her four children, John Leary and wife, Judi Molinari; Denis Leary and wife Ann; Ann-Marie Coleman and husband Neil and Betty Leary Hylton, DMD and husband William Hylton, DMD. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Heather Leary, Caitlin Coleman, DMD (Kenneth Cosgrove), Colleen O’Brien, Mairead Coleman (Brian Bardell) Melanie Leary (Brian Sweet), Jack Leary, Devin Leary, Elizabeth Coleman, Liam Hylton, Blake Hylton and great grandchildren Charlie, Rowan, Bernard, Fiona, John Morris, Adelaide, Niamh, and Cormac as well as many loving nieces and nephews in the US and Ireland. She is predeceased by her siblings Timothy Sullivan, Bridget Lucey, Margaret Carroll, Theresa Brosnan and Denis O’Sullivan and her grandson Conor Hylton.
Nora lived with grace and resilience. Ever present, she guided her family with wisdom, patience, humor, and faith. At 98, her legacy is not only in the years she lived, but in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She will be missed dearly but will live on in the laughter, kindness and love she instilled in all of us.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
