Norman G. Burgoyne, 86, of 81 Whipple St. died Thursday, March 16, at home.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Ruth L. (Steele) Burgoyne; a son, Richard N. and his wife Marguerite M. Burgoyne of Wesley, ME; a daughter, Norma R. and her husband Walter L. Lundin of Douglas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of George F. and G. Mildred (Enberg) Burgoyne and attended North High School. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
Norman was a machinist for 43 years for Johnson Steel and Wire, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Quinsigamond United Methodist Church and its Mr. And Mrs. Club, past commander of the Quinsigamond American Legion Post %23318, member of the former Athelstan Lodge of Masons in Worcester, now the Guiding Lights Lodge A.F. %2B A.M., past president of the Quinsigamond Youth Assoc., past chairman of the Quinsigamond Salvation Army Boys Scouts of American, and past president of the Ramshorn Pond Assoc. He also enjoyed woodcrafts, brook fishing and hunting in Petersham and spending time with his family at the summer home on the Ramshorn Lake in West Millbury.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 20, at 11 a.m. in Quinsigamond United Methodisth Church, 9 Stebbins St. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemtery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds may be made to Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St. Worcester, 01607. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. is directing arrangements.
