WORCESTER-Olga L. Pojani, 92, of Worcester passed away Monday, May 16 in UMASS Memorial Hospital.
She leaves a brother, Christie L. and his wife, Irene Pojani of Davenport, FL; nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Two brothers, Hank Pojani and George Pojani and two sisters, Mary Pojani and Effie Taylor predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ligor and Sophie (Andon) Pojani and graduated from Commerce High School.
Olga worked for many years at her families former Restaurant, The New Yorker in Auburn, prior to that she was an airline stewardess and an accountant's assistant. Olga's love in life was her church. She was a proud lifelong member of Saint Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church. Olga volunteered countless hours serving on every committee at the church. She was particularly proud of being the choir director, teaching Sunday school, serving on the Church Board and working at all the Church Festivals.
The Visiting Hours will be held Thursday, May 19 from 10 to 11AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11AM in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to her church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
