WEST BOYLSTON
Otis Hughes Pineo, 91, of West Boylston died Sun., Dec. 16. He was born on July 10, 1916 to Lt. Det. Otis Henry Pineo and Joan Sheehan. Otis worked in local industry and was a Chief Steward in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He later worked as a Steward for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
He leaves a son, Charles and his wife Marcia of California; a daughter, Pamela and her husband John of Virginia; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. Otis was an inventor and published poet. While with Woods Hole he traveled to many exotic ports, including several days in Antarctica. He was a retiree of the US Coast Guard and a member of the West Boylston American Legion Post %23204. He also leaves his longtime best friend and caregiver, Peter Zickell of West Boylston, Dr. Blake his primary care doctor and Beth Cunningham his primary care nurse both of Holden.
