WORCESTER-Owen G. "Fat" Desy, 83, of Blackstone River Rd. formerly 935 Millbury St. died at home on Monday, July 10 after a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Mary R. (Hughes) Desy; a son, Thomas O. and his wife Mary K. Desy of Worcester; two granddaughters, LeeAnn Desy of Phoenix, AZ and Brenda Diggs of Worcester; two great granddaughters, Dominique and Ava Diggs both of Worcester; a brother, Raymond Desy of Brimfield, many nieces and nephews. A son, Ronald E. Desy, two brothers, Raoul and Francis "Mickey" Desy; three sisters, Arlene Latour, Rita Marcotte and Doris Nankervis all predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Louis J and Bertha M. (Gervais) Desy and attended Worcester Schools. Owen was a longtime truck driver and owned and operated D.C. Trucking for many years before retiring. He enjoyed and participated in Raccoon Dog Racing.
The funeral will be Friday, July 14 from LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 13 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Louis School Endowment Fund, 15 Lake Street, Webster, MA 01570-2605.
