WEST BOYLSTON - Pamela J. (White) Bjorklund, 70, died peacefully February 3 at Oakdale Nursing Home. Pam was born in Worcester on April 13, 1950, the daughter of the late Gordon P. and Gertrude M. (Peterson) White.
Pam graduated from West Boylston High School and worked for over 35 years as a kindergarten teacher at Leicester Primary School. She was married October 11, 1980 to the love of her life, her late husband Bruce C. Bjorklund. Pam and Bruce were avid travelers, frequently visiting their favorite vacation spots of Acadia National Park, Myrtle Beach, and visiting family in Florida. Some of their most memorable trips included their Alaskan cruise with beloved friends and a cross-country trip with their sons, ending at the Grand Canyon and a visit to Mesa Verde. On the weekends, they enjoyed embarking on shorter trips to scenic New England sites, always taking the back roads, usually on a quest to find a whoopie pie or other sweet treat. Pam took pride in helping her sons each achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and made many cherished friends in the process. She was the ultimate hostess and organizer and enjoyed having gatherings with family and friends, complete with games and activities.
Pamela is predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Bruce C. Bjorklund, as well as her parents.
She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Kevin A. Bjorklund and his wife Cara of West Boylston and Brian M. Bjorklund and his wife Christine of Rutland; a brother, Jeffrey White and his wife Dianne of Worcester; three grandchildren, Hannah, Kyle, and Parker; and many nephews and nieces.
Out of an abundance of caution during COVID-19 visiting hours will be private. Family and friends are asked to gather Saturday, February 6 in Mount Vernon Cemetery for a public graveside service at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pam's memory to the Town of West Boylston Recreation Department c/o The Office of the Treasurer/Collector, 140 Worcester St., West Boylston, 01583.
