SOUTHBRIDGE/WORCESTER:

Paola Diaz, 26, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4, 2026. She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, family member, and friend whose presence brought warmth, joy, and comfort to those around her.

Paola was born in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, daughter of Ramona Henriquez- Diaz and the late Pablo Diaz. She carried with her a vibrant spirit and a deep love for life. She attended South High School and went on to graduate from Doherty High School. She later studied at Quinsigamond Community College, where she was pursuing her goal of a career in social work. Her heart for helping others was one of her greatest gifts, and she hoped to give back to her community by supporting and uplifting those in need. This passion was reflected in her work at Open Sky, where she served as a Team Leader and dedicated herself to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Paola found joy in life’s meaningful moments. She started cooking at a young age and loved being in the kitchen, where cooking and baking became one of the many ways she shared love with the people around her. She also enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, whether apple picking, hiking, exploring the world, or simply taking in the beauty of a sunrise or sunset. Her adventurous spirit, kindness, and laughter made memories with her special.

Family was at the center of Paola’s life. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly, especially when it came to her nieces and nephews, who were among her greatest joys. She was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved, creating memories that can be treasured forever.

Paola’s life ended far too soon. However, she lived in a way that left behind a lasting legacy of compassion, generosity, and love. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her bright spirit, and the way she made others feel seen, valued, and loved.

She is survived by her mother, Ramona Henriquez-Diaz; her siblings Carla Simon, Xavier Simon, Raymond Simon, Edgar Ramirez, Marlly Dilone, Dahiana Ferreras, Pablo Ramirez; her 3 nieces, Azariah, Noriah, and Ellianna; her 4 nephews, Careem, Uriah, Elias, and Raymond Jr.; as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who loved her deeply.
