Patricia A. Castellano

WORCESTER- Patricia Ann (Trotto) Castellano, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019 surrounded by her family at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield after a courageously fought battle with lung cancer. She was 61.

Tricia was born in Holden on September 3, 1957 a daughter of Richard J. Browne and the late Eleanor M. (Reidy) Browne. She was raised in Northborough and attended local schools where she made life-long friends. One of her first jobs was at Harr Ford as a sales rep where she met her first husband, Donald Trotto. She and her husband owned the former Gemini Night Club in Worcester bringing in many of the local talents in live music. They enjoyed the many friendships they made there through the years. Donald and Tricia shared their love of classic cars. She loved going to cruise nights, car shows, and the Summer Nationals with her red 1963 Studebaker Avanti.

Tricia went on to attend Ultrasound Diagnostic School of Marlborough to become an ultrasound technician where she graduated first in her class. She excelled in her career and worked at UMass Medical Center, Bay State Medical Center, Marlborough Hospital and Day Kimball Healthcare. Tricia was well respected in her field and one of the first local ultrasound technicians sent to Philadelphia to learn to do Echocardiograms.

Tricia's love for travelling began with a memorable trip during high school when she was fortunate to travel to Ireland with her mother. She enjoyed many trips including London and the Caribbean with her second husband, Domenic Castellano. Family trips included Disney, the Bahamas, and Mexico. But what gave her the most joy was vacationing with her family at her condo on the ocean at Old Orchard Beach. She loved all animals, especially dogs and even bred Shih Tzu's. Tricia was a social butterfly with an infectious smile and made many friends throughout her life. She recently moved to Feeding Hills and was very fortunate to meet a group of new friends who she enjoyed so much. Above all, Tricia loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren, daughter Katie and her son-in-law Johnny who she said was more like a son to her.

She will be forever loved and missed by her daughter, Catherine Trotto and her husband John Garza of Westfield and step-daughter, Hannah Castellano of Malden; her father, Richard Browne of West Boylston; her sisters, Margaret Zimage and her husband, David of Worcester and Denise Kelly and her husband, Richard of Winchendon; three grandchildren, Natalie, Annabelle and Jack Garza; her nieces and nephews, Randall M. "Jay-Ahh" Ames, Lindsay Ames, Michael Sweet, Daniel Sweet and Colleen Sweet; many cousins and extended family members and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Friday March 8th from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a prayer service to follow at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
