Auburn-Patricia A. (O’Leary) Giangrande, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 17th, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph Giangrande, in 2010.
Patty was born in Worcester on May 26th, 1954, daughter of the late Barbara (Wiegert) and Daniel O’Leary. After graduating from Burncoat High School, she attended Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and later earned her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Assumption College. Patricia worked as a registered nurse in homecare and acute care settings. She had a passion for teaching other medical professionals about her specialty, IV therapy.
Those who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with Patricia knew she had a zest for life along with a resilient and compassionate energy. Patty also exhibited an optimistic and outgoing attitude that inspired everyone around her. In her free time Patty enjoyed cooking, traveling locally and internationally with friends and family, reading, sunbathing, and shopping where she could keep up with fashion trends. She especially enjoyed the local New England beaches and seascapes. Most importantly, she cherished the time she had with her family.
Patricia leaves behind many that will miss her dearly including her daughter, Jessica (Giangrande) Levesque and her husband, Ken, of Auburn; her son, Michael Giangrande of Worcester; her sister, Darlene O’Leary of Auburn; brother, Daniel O’Leary and his fiancé, Paula Collins, of Auburn; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and sister Deborah and her husband, Ronnie D’Eramo.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held with visiting hours on Sunday, April 23rd from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Family and friends are welcomed to gather on Monday, April 24th at 10:30am in the funeral home for a service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
