WORCESTER-Patricia "Shirley" (Blanchette) Molloy, 83, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Beaumont Nursing Center with her loving family by her side.
Shirley was born in Tewksbury, daughter of Walter and Katherine (Madden) Blanchette and graduated from Northbridge High School. Shirley worked at the former Big D Grocery Stores on Pleasant and Lincoln Streets for several years. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Frederick J. Molloy, Jr. in 2006 and a son, Stephen "Tates" Gardner in 1978. Shirley is survived by four children; Elizabeth K. Mandella-Weissman and her husband Randy Weissman of Worcester, Michael S. Gardner of Dudley, Donna M. McIntyre of Brookfield and Leah K. Corbin of Worcester and a loving Gramma to Jamie, Seth, Joel, David, Patrick, Rebecca, Katie, Kevin and Emily and six beautiful great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Walter G. Blanchette, Jr. of Crofton, MD, nephews, nieces and her best friend since childhood, Phyllis Boisvert. Shirley was predeceased by her brother Robert Blanchette in 1988.
Shirley enjoyed going to the casino, playing Bingo and reading. She loved to take long car rides throughout New England visiting the ocean and mountains. Shirley's most memorable trip was to Italy with her three children.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, August 26 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Shirley's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, August 27. All are welcome to gather directly at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
