HOPEDALE-Paul Carnazza, 53, formerly of Worcester, died Wednesday, February 11 in Milford Hospital after an illness. He leaves two sons, Brian P. Carnazza and his wife Meredith of Franklin and James T. Carnazza of Salem; two grandchildren, Kayleigh and Benjamin; his mother, Anne Marie (Campbell) Lynch and her husband William of Spencer; four brothers Joseph P. Carnazza and his wife Paula of Upper Montclair, NJ, Stephen G. Carnazza and his wife Susan Schwager of Marion, John P. Carnazza and his wife Steffanie of Spencer and James A. Carnazza and his wife Cornelia of Holden; a sister, Mary E. Mowatt and her husband Wayne of Caribou, ME; his former wife Nora L. (Brown) Carnazza; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Paul J. Carnazza and two sisters, Susan and Anne Marie Carnazza.

Paul attended Doherty Memorial High School, graduating in 1974. He graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. . He was employed by EDCO, a public/private educational system within county government. His employment with EDCO was at the Worcester County House of Correction, specializing in GED certification. Paul was employed with EDCO for over 20 years. He helped numerous individuals with their goals in education. Paul most recently taught at the Lumberton Senior High School in Lumberton, NC.

Paul grew up summering on Cape Cod and thoroughly enjoyed swimming, boating and clamming. He was an avid hockey player while in junior and senior high school. Paul was a good friend to all and had a funny sense of humor; always bringing about laughter and a smile. Paul was a devoted family man who loved to follow sports, play golf, and listen to music.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St, Worcester with a mass at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery.
