Worcester

WORCESTER-Paul G. Durant, 82, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, May 6 in the St. Francis Home. He was born in Worcester, son of Felix Durant and Evelyn A. (Gauthier) Jette Durant and graduated from Holy Name High School and Framingham State College. He proudly served in the US Army.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his brother, Bob, who sadly passed away in 2021. They were very close and together enjoyed long car rides and going to the movies. In his younger years he enjoyed playing basketball in his neighborhood, especially with his friends at the Shrewsbury Fire Station. He also loved to walk, paint and draw. He suffered from depression throughout his life, but he did not let that define him and learned to manage it on his own. Paul was a gentle soul and cared deeply for his family. He was beyond generous and gave to his favorite charities and his church. He believed in the old credo of “God Family Country” and would spread the word of God to everyone he met.

Paul will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Durant and Ernest Jette and a sister, Jeanne Piltzecker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 10 at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Paul’s church, a place he so loved.
