Paul M. Kearns

WORCESTER-Paul Michael Kearns, 89, a lifelong resident of the Webster Square area of Worcester passed away Friday, August 24 at Beaumont Nursing Center in Westborough.

He was born in Worcester son of Irish immigrants, Katherine (Dolan) and James Kearns. He leaves his two daughters Ann Bartosiewicz, and her husband Michael and their three children, Elizabeth, Daniel and Patrick of North Grafton and Susan Connolly, and her husband Frederick and their two sons Brendan and Andrew of North Grafton. He married his loving wife Judith (Spink)Kearns in September 19th 1964 and they remained together for 45 years until her death in 2009. Four brothers James, Edward, John and Joseph, and a sister, Ann (Scanlon) Gormley also predeceased him. He also leaves a brother Walter Kearns of Florida, several nieces and nephews, a special cousin Mary Galli of Rutland and many friends.

Paul graduated from St. Peter's High School and Worcester Junior College and proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Paul worked for a several companies throughout his career as an accountant. He was the Treasurer of the former Worcester Bus Company. He worked for the House of Affirmation and retired from the Retirement Department for the City of Worcester.

Paul was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Main South Legion Post #341. He was a member of Hillcrest Country Club in Leicester for many years golfing in the Main South League and with the Growlers. He was a member of the former Diner's Club. He enjoyed reading, listening to Irish music, playing golf and spending time with his daughters and their families. He had many lifelong friends whom he cherished so much.

A Visiting Hour will be held Friday, August 31 from 8:30 to 9:30am at the Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial with Military Honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Best Buddies 529 Main St., Suite 202, Boston, MA 02129 or the The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, 20 Burlington Mall Rd., Suite 261, Burlington, MA 01803.
